The National Concert Hall Audiences Treated to a Season of Festive Concerts and more

This Christmas, The National Concert Hall offers audiences the chance to create musical memories to last a lifetime with a broad range of Christmas concerts, musicals, screenings, choral classics and much more.

The National Concert Hall offers added value to customers wishing to make more of their visit with specially themed ‘Concert and Meal Deals’ on a variety of Christmas concerts this December. 

For those who are simply looking for the ideal Christmas gift, The National Concert Hall offers a choice of: National Concert Hall gift cards from €20 or more, a National Concert Hall Friends membership from just €115 for the year, and membership to ‘Young Maestros’; the National Concert Hall’s music club for 3-15 year olds for just €50 per year

Highlights of the magical and festive season include: 

The Irish premier of POLAR: a cinematic portrait of polar kingdoms on huge screen with live music by the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra on Sunday 11 December 3pm/7pm. Featuring white blizzards, polar bears, humpback whales, blue oceans and vast wilderness of the Arctic and Antarctic regions… Polar is a breath taking and mesmerising cinematic experience for all the family. 

Our Lady’s Choral Society together with the RTÉ Concert orchestra and Proinnsias O’Duinn perform Handel’s Messiah on Wednesday 14, Thursday 15 and Friday 16 December 8pm.

The Mozart Festival Orchestra in full period costume and Mozart Festival Chorus bring Carols by Candlelight to the National Concert Hall with soprano Anna Devin performing season classics in an evocative candle-lit style setting on Sunday 18 December at 3.15pm/8pm. 

The National Concert Hall presents a traditional Christmas with ‘Soilse na Nollag’ featuring a series of lunchtime and evening concerts with Ronan Browne, Roisin Elsafty, Siobhan Armstrong, Cormac Breatnach and Martin Dunlea, Ciaran Tourish and Conor Byrne from 19-23 December. 

Jazz and pop standards made famous by Nat King Cole, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald more will be performed by singer Jessie Buckley and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra on Thursday 22 December 8pm. 

The RTÉ Concert Orchestra presents the movie screening of The Wizard of Oz. The all-time classic will be accompanied by a live performance of the orchestral score with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, conducted by Neil Thomson on Friday 23 December at 3.30pm and 7.30pm.

Festival Productions presents the classic family musical Oliver at the National Concert Hall. Directed by Vivian Coates, this sensational production of the much-loved show takes the stage from December 27th to January 3rd featuring the all-Irish cast of over 100 singers, dancers and street urchins! 

On 1 January at 2.30pm and 6.30pm the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra presents a programme of Strauss family favourites and operatic excerpts in ‘Vienna: City of Dreams’ themed concert with mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught and conductor Marco Zambelli heralding the New Year.
